Arçelik A.Ş. Plants have crowned their achievements in the realm of TPM practices, implemented as a production management system, which in essence aims to eliminate all the losses and maximize efficiency, an indispensable element of sustainable competition, with new awards. The Refrigerator Plant in Eskişehir and Cooking Appliances Plant in Bolu have been awarded the TPM Awards of the JIPM in Japan as both plants successfully passed the two-stage audits performed by independent auditors.

Having received Award for TPM Excellence granted by JIPM in 2004 and Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment in 2006, Arcelik A.Ş. Eskişehir Refrigerator Plant has also succeeded in becoming the first enterprise in the Worldwide White Goods sector receiving the “Special Award for TPM Achievement”.

With the awarding of Award for TPM Excellence to Arçelik A.Ş. Cooking Appliances Plant in Bolu, all the Arçelik Plants in Turkey have now received TPM awards.

Expressing his opinions about this matter, Levent Çakıroğlu, General Manager of Arçelik A.Ş., said, “In our plants with a production quality that is registered by respectable organizations, the most silent and the fastest products of the world with the least power and water consumption are being produced in different product categories. We aim to preserve the environment and our natural resources and to use our resources in the most efficient manner in all our processes in parallel with our vision that we determined as “Respects the Globe, Respected Globally”. The fact that JIPM considers our plants worthy of the TPM awards and also that we are the first plant in the worldwide white good sector to receive the “TPM Special Award” is a concrete indication of the importance we place on efficiency in production processes and our assertion in this respect”.

Arçelik A.Ş. was handed the TPM awards during a ceremony held in Kyoto city of Japan. Arçelik A.Ş. has thus succeeded in winning the TPM Awards awarded by JIPM for eleven times, including the plants in Turkey and abroad.

JIPM has been giving TPM Award to successful applicant firms throughout the world since 1971. Among the main criteria of the JIPM / TPM Award given in two different categories for small and big-scale plants are: having all employees participated in improvement works by using TPM techniques, increase productivity by lessening losses, decrease costs, and reaching striking business results such as "zero-error product", "zero stoppage”, “zero accident” in targeted fields. Assessments during auditing made towards this aim include realization of all determined targets, success obtained in employee participation, a balanced spreading of implementations throughout the plant horizontally, equal and balanced distribution of TPM techniques in the entire field, decisiveness and possessiveness of employees and consistency between written documents and in situ applications.
