Held by The Chicago Athenaeum (Museum of Architecture and Design) since 1950, and regarded as the symbol of innovation and design, the “Good Design” prize of 2008 went to Grundig’s Chameleon 2 18.5” LCD television. The Grundig Chameleon 2 18.5” LCD television was evaluated on the basis of criteria such as technology, aesthetics, quality and functionality as well as on the basis of its distinctive design approach and originality in its field.

One of the oldest and most prestigious design awards, the “Good Design” contest took place in two main categories this year. Prestigious global brands were evaluated under two main categories, namely the “product design” and “graphic design”. Under the product design category, hundreds of products from 48 countries competed in 19 different fields including electronics, automobiles, lighting, office and home furniture. Influencing world markets with competitive products and rewarding manufacturers and designers, the jury of the contest convened in New York and Los Angeles last month to emphasize the importance of originality in design in a period when design and innovation are improving quickly. L Series 32” LCD television, which was manufactured at the Grundig plant was the first product from Turkey to win the “Good Design” award in 2006.
